At SILKE London, we only use the highest grade 6A long fiber 100% pure mulberry silk in 22-momme grade thickness, and nothing else will do.
This is because not only is the surface of silk completely smooth, ensuring your delicate hair cuticles glide safely under its protection, but it is also far less absorbent than other materials - so it won't strip away precious moisture and natural oils from your hair like cotton or synthetic satins will!
WON'T SYNTHETIC SATIN DO THE SAME THING?
Not even close! When it comes to hair care, pure silk has unique properties that synthetic materials simply can't match. While synthetic satin might feel smooth, it doesn't offer the same benefits as our 100% pure silk. Synthetic fabrics tend to absorb moisture and oils from your hair, while silk helps retain them.
